The Oklahoma Technical Assistance Center (OTAC) serves Oklahoma school districts by providing information and assistance concerning programs for students at risk of dropping out of school. OTAC assists school districts with the development, implementation, and refinement of programs funded under the High Challenge Grant program, the Alternative Education Grant program, the Alternative Academies program (was absorbed in to Statewide Funding), and the Statewide Alternative program. To the schools in each of these programs, OTAC provides staff development, program evaluation that is designed to pinpoint areas of improvement, and program dissemination. Additionally, OTAC reviews and maintains current research on dropouts, at-risk students, and state and national preventative/intervention programs. |
