You may want to print these instructions, then return to the WebCast registration page.
Thanks to Nelson Miller from Comanche Public Schools for providing these suggested ways to access our WebCasts from a Macintosh computer. While we offer no guarantees, Nelson was able to access our WebCasts using both of the following methods.
Method 1
Use Quicktime 7. It is available from www.Apple.com/quicktime
Method 2
Sysytem - OS X 10.4.8
Player - Windows Media Player 9.0.0 for Mac - free download from below link
http://download.microsoft.com/download/0/f/3/0f347443-f1ff-4830-9b20-65da2c6bf111/WindowsMediaInstaller.bin
On Windows Media Player, go to Windows Media Player Menu (next to the Apple) and
then choose Preferences.
On the "Network Settings" tab, here are my preferences:
Buffering - Use default buffering
Protocols - Multicast is checked; UDP is checked, but no settings are changed
here; TCP is checked; HTTP is checked and the 'No proxy' setting has been checked
(probably won't work right if they have a proxy server setup unless that proxy
server is defined here, if they are not sure they should ask their technology
administrator).
On the "Connection" tab, here are my preferences:
I have T1 or LAN checked because that is where I am at, behind a DS3
On the "Security" tab, nothing is checked.
Here is an additional note from Nelson Miller.
When I received your email (with the WebCast address), I copied the link and then
went to Windows Media Player. In the File menu I chose 'Open URL' and then I pasted the link and
clicked OK. In about 20 seconds, I was watching the stream without delay.
