Online, Content-Based Professional Development
(from sites not associated with OTAC)

Many teachers need professional development hours in a content area to complete your HOUSSE.  The hours must be content-based or related to state content standards (in Oklahoma , that's PASS).

We have looked at a lot of online sites and collected the best ones.  We've concentrated on free resources, although we've included a few that are very high-quality but cost money.  If you want to enroll in one of those courses, talk with your principal about using Title II Teacher Quality funds to pay for it.

We've also included a sample form that you might use before you start in on a professional development course.  Because your principal is the person who needs to verify your participation, we thought it would be helpful if you had a form (a short one!) on which you could record your agreement with your principal on your plans to get professional development through an online source. Use one of the following links to open or save (download) the sample form.  If you have the Microsoft Word program on your computer you can print or type into the form after saving (downloading) it.  If you do not have Microsoft Word right click and choose "save target as..." to download the .pdf version and print it.
